Death By Chocolate

By

This sinfully delicious dish is always a big hit, whether you are making it for company or bringing it to a potluck. So if you are a fan of all things chocolate, this is the dessert for you!

Ingredients

  • 8 whole Regular Size Heath Bars Or Skor Bars (chocolate Covered English Toffee)
  • 1 box Brownie Mix (19.8 Oz. Box)
  • 1/2 cups Oil, More Or Less As Directed On Brownie Mix Package
  • 2 whole Eggs, More Or Less As Directed On Brownie Mix Package
  • 2 boxes Instant Chocolate Pudding (1.4 Oz. Box, I Use Fat Free/Sugar Free)
  • 4 cups Milk, More Or Less As Directed On Pudding Package
  • 16 ounces, weight Cool Whip (I Use Light)

Preparation

Step 1

My mother-in-law was the first one to introduce me to this dish, and I’ve been hopelessly addicted ever since!

Directions:

Toss Heath Bars in the freezer for approximately 20 minutes. Remove from freezer, unwrap and place in a zip lock bag. Pound with a rolling pin until the bars are broken into pieces.

Prepare brownies (typically using water, oil and eggs, as listed) according to package directions. Allow to cool and cut up into 1- to 2-inch squares

Mix pudding with the required amount of milk according to package directions.

In a glass trifle bowl, layer 1/2 of the cake cubes, 1/2 of the pudding, 1/2 of the crushed candy bars, and 1/2 of the whipped topping.

Repeat layers in the same order. Save the last little bit of toffee bar to crumble and sprinkle on top before serving.

Cover and refrigerate for several hours.
