Barbecued Turkey Sandwich

  • 4 1/4 lb turkey breast cutlets
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 med onion, chopped
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 tsp dry mustard
  • pinch dried cloves
  • 4 toasted English muffins


Servings 4


Step 1

Pound each cutlet between two pieces of plastic wrap to 1/4 in. thickness.

Sprinkle with thyme, salt and pepper.

Melt butter in skillet over medium heat.

Cook turkey for two min. per side, until cooked through. Cover and set aside.

In saucepan, mix oil, onions, green peppers, and garlic. Cook until almost tender.

Stir in ketchup, water, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, mustard and cloves. Continue cooking until vegetables are cooked.

Add to turkey, coating evenly.

Serve over English muffin.
