Homemade Doggie Cupcakes

A dog friendly dessert made with whole wheat flour and applesauce. It's also topped off with some frosting made with pumpkin and yogurt. Nice and doggie friendly.

Ingredients

  • for cupcakes:
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 TBSP honey
  • 2 TBSP creamy peanut butter
  • for frosting:
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 TBSP pureed pumpkin
  • 2 TBSP plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 TBSP flour

Preparation

Step 1



Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 6 count muffin pan or line with liners
In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients for cakes until smooth.
Spoon evenly into muffin pan.
Bake for 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.

for frosting:
Mix ingredients until smooth. Frost on cooled cakes.

Makes: 6-8 cakes
