Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 to 3

    lb. boneless pork sirloin roast

  • 1/2

    tsp. salt

  • 1/2

    tsp. pepper

  • 1

    Tbs. oil

  • 2

    medium onions, cut into thin wedges

  • 1

    c. root beet

  • 2

    Tbs. minced garlic

  • 2-12 oz. cans root beer

  • 1

    c. bottled chili sauce

  • 6

    dashes hot pepper sauce

Directions

Trim fat from meat. Sprinkle meat with the salt and pepper. In skillet brown roast on all sides in hot oil. Transfer to slow cooker/ Add onions, the 1 cup root beer and garlic. Cover, cook on low setting for 8-10 hours. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan combine the 2 cans of root beer and bottled chili sauce. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and boil gently uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 30 min or until mixture is reduced to 2 cups. Add hot sauce. Shred roast and add sauce. Heat through
