Ingredients

  • 5 to 6 pork loin chops, depending how many to cover the bottom of baking dish
  • 1 large can plain sauerkraut
  • Olive oil or canola oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Paprika

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat your oven to 375 degrees
2. Rinse the pork chops, pat dry and season with salt and pepper
3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and quickly brown the pork chops on both sides.
4 Place browned pork chops in a glass or enamel cooking dish, such as a lasagna dish. Sprinkle paprika on top of pork chops.
5. Drain the sauerkraut juice and set aside. Arrange drained sauerkraut on top of the pork chops. Sprinkle more lpaprika on the sauerkraut.
6. Add some water to the reserved sauerkraut juice and pour into the baking dish. Cover very well with aluminum foil. Bake for about 1 hour.
7. Remove the fil and bake for another 10 minutes.
8. Serve with mashed potatoes.
