Baked Potato Soup*****


A "must" for our Super Bowl Parties.

  • 4 large baking potatoes
  • 2/3 cups butter
  • 2/3 cups flour
  • 6 cups milk
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar (1/2 for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup crumbled bacon (extra for garnish)
  • 2 T green onion(extra for garnish)
  • 8 oz sour cream


Servings 8


Step 1

1-Scrub, pierce and bake potatoes at 400* for 1 hour. Scoop potatoe out of shell and set aside.
2-Make a roux with the butter and flour.
3-Over medium heat,slowly add milk and continue to stir until thickened.
4-Add potatoes, S&P, 1 cup cheese, 1/2 cup bacon and green onion.
5-Continue to cook until heated through.
6-Add sour cream and stir to mix.

Garnish each serving with extra cheese, bacon and green onion.
