Turkey, Bean and Cheddar Burgers

This recipe makes 9 knock-your-socks-off delicious burgers, which despite the inclusion of cheddar cheese, gets only 32% of calories from fat. Be sure to cut the cheddar in a fairly small dice 1/4" or less.

Ingredients
- 1 cup diced cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 lbs. lean ground turkey
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 15 oz. kidney beans, drained and rinced
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 cup loosely packed cilantro, chopped
- 2 egg whites, lightly beaten

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Coat a baking sheet with cooking spray. Mix all the ingredients together, taking car not to compact the mixture. (use hands)
If you only need 4, freeze the uncooked mixture.
Bake for 13-14 minutes, until a meat thermometer stuck in the center registers 165 degrees.
Serving suggestions:
barbecue sauce, ketchup and mustard
sliced tomato and lettuce to put on the burgers.
