Baltimore Creams Candy

Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. white or dark Karo Syrup
  • 1 c. whole milk
  • 2 T. butter or oleo
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 2 (1-oz.) squares chocolate (opt.)

Preparation

Step 1

Butter sides of saucepan. Mix sugar, salt, syrup and milk and cook over medium heat until softball stage (238 to 240 degrees). Add butter and beat vigorously until mixture becomes stiff and loses its gloss. Stir in nuts and chocolate (opt. if you prefer chocolate flavor).
