Ingredients
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. very fine granulated sugar
- 2 c. sifted regular flour
- Yellow decorating sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy in a medium-size bowl; blend in flour gradually. Beat on medium speed with electric beater for 5 minutes or knead with hands until satin smooth. Pat out to a 9 x 6-inch rectangle on an ungreased cookie sheet. Chill for several hours or until firm enough to hold its shape when cut (overnight is even better). Cut in 1-inch squares; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle generously with decorating sugar 30 minutes before baking. Bake in slow 325 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until firm in center and slightly golden around edges. Remove from sheet and cool comepletely.
