Ingredients
- Sauce:
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts, or to taste
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup light rum
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 stick butter
- 1/8 cup water or orange juice
- 1/8 cup light rum
- 1 cup sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325*. Lightly butter and flour a large bundt pan. Sprinkle bottom with chopped nuts. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, rum, water, oil and eggs. Beat well. Pour into prepared bundt pan and bake for 50 minutes.
During the last 10 minutes of baking, make the sauce:
Combine sauce ingredients and heat to a boil. Remove cake from oven; let stand for 5 minutes. Pour sauce mixture around the outside and center of cake while cake is still in the pan. Invert cake onto a cake plate. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Makes 16 slices.
