Green Beans with Almonds

Ingredients

  • 10 ounces green beans, frozen, or 1 lb. fresh
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 teaspoon margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Prepare green beans if using fresh by rinsing, cutting off ends, and snapping into 1 inch pieces. Place almonds and margarine in 1-quart casserole. Microwave uncovered on high 3 to 5 minutes, stirring every minute, until golden. Remove almond from casserole.
2. Place green beans and thyme in same casserole. Cover tightly and microwave on high 9 to 14 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes, until beans are tender. Stir in salt and almonds.
