Scandinavian Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • Filling:
  • 1 pkg yeat
  • 1/4 c warm water
  • 4 c flour
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c butter
  • 1 c milk (110-115')
  • 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
  • 3 TBS butter, softened
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Glaze:
  • 1 1/2 c confection sugar
  • 2 TBX butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 TBS milk

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in water, ste aside. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, salt, cut in butter. Ass the yeast, milk, egg yolks. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
Divide dough in half and roll each into a 12 x 10 retangle. Spread butter all over dough. Mix sugar and cinnamon together then sprinkle over buttered dough. Roll up from the long end and pinch seam together. Cut into 12 pieces. Repeat with remaining dough.
Grease a muffin pan well place each piece into one of the muffin cups. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Bake 375' for 20-25 minutes.

remove rolls to a wire rack and spread with glaze.
