Ingredients
- 8 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 pie crust (9 inch)

If Apples lack tartness, sprinkle with about 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices and dash salt; mix with appples. Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture; dot with butter. Adjust top pastry, cut slits for steam to escape. Seal. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes or until done.
NOTES : Rome or Granny Smith Apples are good but I have made this with Red Delicious.
