grama's fudge

This is a very old recipes from my mother who made it every halloween for the children and when they grew up they would bring their children

Ingredients

  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup BUTTER
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

bring sugar and cream to a boil and continue till a fairly hard ball. Have a cup of cold water handy and drop a bit of the fudge into it for testing the hardness.

Remove from heat add butter and vanilla and with a hand mixer start on low and increase speed as you see fit. Beat till the mixture is very light in color and is thickening.. It usually takes about 5-7 minutes. Remove and fill a buttered pan.
