White sauce/ cheese sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon chives, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in 1 quart dish. Stir in flour & seasoning until smooth. Blend in milk and microwave at high for 2 to 6 min. or until mixture thickens stirring after 2 minutes the first time, then every minute till thickened. Serve with sliced potatoes.

Cheesse sauce: add 1 cup cheese, 1 tablespon sherry, 1/4 teaspoon dry mstard to white sauce. Stir until cheese melts. Microwave on high for 30 sec. Stir before serving. Serve with broccoli, cauliflower or brussel sprouts.
