Ingredients

  • Mix together:
  • 1 1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup cold water

Preparation

Step 1

Bring 3 cups hot water to a boil and gradually whisk in cornmeal mixture and simmer covered for 5 minutes (will be very thick). Pour into oiled 9x5x3 pan and refrigerate overnight. When cold, cut into ½ inch slices and dredge in flour. Fry in hot oil.
