Brown Sugar Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin

By

Okay this recipe has been everywhere, pinned by everyone, etc. but the recipe had problems as written, take it out of the crock pot, insert a meat thermometer, cook the loin at 350 in the oven until it reaches 140, then glaze under broiler as instructed. My apologies to the original author.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 pounds pork loin
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix together the seasonings : sage, salt, pepper and garlic, and rub over the pork.

Place pork in a roasting pan on a rack. pour 1/2 cup water in pan, insert a temp probe into the meat, cover with foil and bake till roast hits 140.

Mix together the ingredients for the glaze in a small saucepan : brown sugar, cornstarch, balsamic vinegar, water, and soy sauce. Heat over medium and stir until mixture thickens, about 4 minutes.

Brush roast with glaze 2 or 3 times during the final stages of cooking. When roast is at temp, switch oven to broil to caramelize the top of the roast a bit. Serve with remaining glaze on the side.
