Ingredients
- 1 1/4 C flour
- 1/4 C cocoa
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 1/2 C butter
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 egg white
- 1 C brown sugar
- 2 T cocoa
- 1 C chopped walnuts
Preparation
Step 1
Bottom layer: Measure first 7 ingredients into bowl. Crumble together.Pat into ungreased 9 x 9 pan. Set aside.
Top Layer: Beat the egg whites until frothy. Add last amount of brown sugar 1/3 at a time and beat after each addition until stiff. Add cocoa and beat to blend. Fold in nuts. Spread over bottom layer. Bake in 350 oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown. Cut with sharp knife, dipped in hot water between cuts.
