Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk (1/3 cup)
- 3 T. sugar (2 T.)
- 2 tsp. salt (1-1/3 tsp.)
- 3 T. butter (2 T.)
- 1 1/2 cup warm water (1 cup)
- 1 pkg. yeast (1-1/2 tsp.)
- 5 1/2 cups flour (3-1/2 cups)
Preparation
Step 1
Scald milk. Stir in sugar, salt, and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Combine water and yeast. Combine milk and water mixtures. Add flour. Knead. Let rise about one hour. Punch down and form into loaves. Let rise again. Bake. Butter top while warm.
