Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 1 T baking powder
- 3/4 t salt
- 1/2 t soda
- 5 T chilled Crisco
- 1 c buttermilk (use 1 c milk with a dash of dark vinegar in it)
Preparation
Step 1
Put the chilled Crisco in the flour mixture with a pastry blender until coarse crumbs form.
Add soured milk.
Toss with a fork until dough holds together.
Turn the dough on floured surface and form a disk. Knead lightly just until smooth.
Pat dough to a 3/4" thickness.
Cut out.
Bake at 425 for 15 minutes.
