Sausage Gravy

It is important to stir the entire time while adding liquid to gravy base. This will prevent lumpy gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon cracked black pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Brown sausage
Add butter
After butter melts, coat meat with flour and cook for two minutes
Add in liquid, stirring constantly
Add in salt and pepper.
Cook on low heat, stirring frequently, until gravy thickens.
