Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon Chicken Base, (Tones)
  • 9 oz. tomato paste, (1 1/2 sm cans)
  • 1 1/2 lb. boneless skinless chicken breast halves, cut into 1" cubes
  • 3 cups potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 celery stalk, sliced
  • 3 medium carrots, sliced
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3/8 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 5 teaspoons cornstarch

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a crock pot, combine the chicken broth and tomato paste. Add next 8 ingredients and stir to mix well. Cover and cook on high heat for 3-1/2 to 4 hours, or on low heat for 7 to 8 hours.
2. Mix water and cornstarch in small bowl; stir until smooth. Stir into stew. Cook, covered, for 30 minutes more, or until thickened. Yield: 6 servings.
