Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 egg yolks
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- Hot water (enough to dissolve)
- 1 c. sour milk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 egg whites, beaten
Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar and butter and add egg yolks. Add 1/2 of soda to sour milk and 1/2 to cocoa. Add cocoa to creamed mixture. Mix flour mixtureand baking powder. Add milk alternately with flour mixture to creamed mixture. Fold in egg whites last. Bake at 350 degrees until done. Test by inserting toothpick.
