Strawberry Dessert

  • 2 pkgs. strawberry-flavored Jello
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 qt. strawberries, sliced
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. Milnot, whipped stiff
  • 1 (14-oz.) angel food cake

Preparation

Step 1

Mix Jello and boiling water well; cool. Add sugar to sliced strawberries (let stand), then add to cooled Jello and let set until slightly thickened. Whip Milnot until stiff (1 package Dream Whip may be used or Cool Whip). Fold topping into the mixture. Break angel food cake in small pieces in 9 x 12-inch pan. Cover with mixture. Cover pan tightly and chill for several hours or overnight. If frozen berries are used, omit sugar and use 2 (1-pound) packages strawberries.
