Suet Pudding

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. suet (shaved pieces)
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • Flour

Preparation

Step 1

Mix well the sugar, suet, milk, egg, rainsins, baking powder, cinnamon and allspice. Add enough flour to make it stiff to stir. Put in round 6 x 6 or 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan. Put in tray of steamer; have water boiling. Cook until toothpick test is clean, possibly 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Serve with whipped cream.
