Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

  • 102 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2/3 cup olive oil
  • 6-10 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 1 1/2 ts. basil
  • 1 1/2 ts. oregano
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Place garlic and olive oil in a large sauce pan.
Turn heat to medium and cook until garlic is soft and lightly browned.
Add tomatoes.
Fill empty tomatoe can 1/4 of the way with water and pour in tomatoes.
Add basil, oregano, and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then lower heat to a simmer and cook until thickened about 30 minutes.

It freezes very well.
Use for pizza sauce as well.
