Zesty tomato sauce

Ingredients

• 1 lg onion chopped (1 cup)
• 2 cloves garlic minced
• 1/4 c olive or veg oil
• 2 c ( 2lb 3oz each) Italian tomatoes
• 2 c ( 6oz each) tomato paste
• 2 tbsp sugar
• 1 tbsp oregano
• 1 tbsp basil
• 1 tbsp salt
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• 1/4 grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Sauté onion and garlic in oil

Stir in tomatoes, paste, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered till thickens add Parmesan cheese.
