Ingredients
- 11/2 lbs Ground beef
- 1 med Onion, sliced
- 1 cup sliced celery
- 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- 2 Tblspns shortening
- 2 Tblspns corn starch
- 1 teaspn salt
- 1/8 teaspn pepper
- 2 cups water
- 2 Tblspns soy sauce
- 2 cups coarsely shredded cabbage
- cooked rice (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Brown ground beef, onion, celery, mushrooms & shortening. Pour off drippings. Combine corn starch, salt, pepper, water, and soy sauce. Add to meat mixture and cook, stirring constantly until thickened. Add cabbage and cook until vegetables are tender (about 10 min). Serve with hot cooked rice and additional soy sauce. Yield 6 servings.
