Ingredients

  • 4-10 ounces chopped fresh or frozen broccoli
  • 1 8 ounces can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Cook broccoli according to pkg. directions. If using fresh, clean,and quarter the flowerets. Remove stems and slice diagonally in 1/4 inch slices. Boil 6-8 minutes, until almost tender.
Drain broccoli; place in large mixing bowl. Stir in water chestnuts, pecans, soup mix and egg. Spoon evenly into greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish, Cover surface with bread crumbs. Pour melted butter over crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. let stand a few minutes before serving and cut in squares.
