Ingredients
- Crust:
- 1/2 c margarine
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 1/2 c flour.
- Filling:
- 1 c brown sugar
- 1/2 c margarine
- 4 T honey
- 1/2 c non dairy whipping cream
- 3 c chopped pecans
- Dash of salt
Preparation
Step 1
Crust- Preheat the oven to 180°. Line a 9x13 in pan with baking paper. Combine the dough ingredients and press it evenly into the pan. Bake for 15 min or until golden brown.
Filling- Preheat the oven to 180°.
In a small saucepot, combine the brown sugar, margarine, and honey. Bring to a boil and then add the cream, pecans, and salt. Pour this mixture over the baked crust. Bake for 30-35 min.
Remove the pan from the oven and let it cool. Cut the bars into any shape you desire.
To prepare the warm pecan sauce, combine brown sugar with some whipping cream and whole pecans. Cook until the sugar melts. Serve warm over ice cream.
