Lasagna (Sora Deetza Spiegelman)

Ingredients

  • 6 small cottage cheese (can substitute ricotta cheese for part)
  • 2 eggs (or 4 whites)
  • 1 pkg shredded cheese, reserve 1/4 c/1 large handful
  • 9 + RAW lasagna noodles
  • 1 jar of favorite marinara sauce
  • 1 c water or milk

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the first 3 ingredients in a bowl.

Pour some sauce into bottom of pan. Over sauce, arrange one layer of noodles, break them if needed, to fit. Over noodles, pour more sauce, then place half of cheese mixture over sauced noodles.

Arrange next layer of noodles, repeat with sauce and remaining cheese mixture. Cover cheese with more noodles, some sauce and then sprinkle on reserved cheese.

Carefully pour 1 c of water or milk into pan, between edges of noodles and the pan. Cover pan tightly with foil. Refrigerate overnight or bake immediately.

Bake at 350° (180°) for about 90 min, and then for about 30 min uncovered.
