SHERRY’S SLOW COOKER SPAGHETTI & MEAT SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1 (28-ounce) cans plum tomatoes and their juices,
  • 1 (16-ounce) can crushed tomatoes with juice
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil (or 1tbl dried)
  • 1 tbl. Fresh oregano
  • 1 tbl fresh thyme
  • 1/2 red or green pepper.
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 1/4 cut chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cut chopped celery
  • 3 cups beef broth

Preparation

Step 1

Boil carrots and celery in water until tender. In the interim, saute peppers until tender, and then add onions and garlic and continue to sauté until onions are translucient.
Puree carrots, celery, carrots, peppers, onions, garlic, herbs and tomatoes and juices in a blender. Add salt and pepper to ground sirloin and ground turkey and add olive oil and saute until done.

Place all ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.


This is a lot of work, but well worth it.
