Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 T. sugar
  • 2 T. warm water
  • 1 T. baking powdered
  • 5 cups flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 cup shortening

Preparation

Step 1

Dissolve yeast in water. Mix with milk, sugar, and salt. Set aside. Mix Nancy flour, baking powder and baking soda together. Cut in shortening and add liquid mixture. Mix lightly – do not knead. Refrigerate over night. Use as much as needed. Remainder may be stored in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Knead dough, roll and cut, do not allow biscuits to rise.
