Ingredients
- 1 envelope active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 c warm water
- 3 1/2 c flour
- 1 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
Sprinkle yeast and sugar into very warm water in large bowl ( very warm water should feel comfortably warm in wrist) stir until well blended and allow to stand 10 mins or until mixture begins to bubble
Stir flour and salt into bowl until a stiff dough is formed
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured pastry cloth or board. Knead until smooth or elastic, about 5 min using only enough flour needed to keep from sticking
Place in greased bowl turn to coat all over with shortening. Cover with towel. Let rise in a warm place, 30 min
Punch down dough, grease a large cookie sheet and hands lightly place dough in pan and stretch to form.
