Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1 cup smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
- 1 lb fresh asparagus
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°.
Remove pastry sheet form package; place on counter to thaw 10-15 minutes or until dough unfolds easily.
Roll dough out on a floured work surface to a 16 x 10 inch rectangle.
Place dough on baking sheet.
Lightly score dough with a sharp knife 1 inch from the edges to mark a rectangle.
Pierce dough, using a fork inside the markings at 1/2 inch intervals.
Bake 10 minutes.
Cool pastry slightly and brush inside the border with the sour cream.
Sprinkle with the shredded cheese.
Trim bottoms of the asparagus and fit crosswise inside the pastry in a single layer over the cheese, alternating tips and ends.
Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until spears are tender.
Cut into squares to serve.
