Susan's Basic Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups canned garbanzo beans, drained
  • 2/3 cup tahini
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • Roasted garlic to taste (about 1 large whole garlic)
  • Paprika
  • Smoked paprika
  • Chipotle chile pepper spice
  • Hot madras curry powder
  • Red curry powder
  • Cumin
  • Fresh cracked pepper
  • Parsley
  • Onion powder
  • Garlic powder
  • Add other ingredients to flavor as desired, i.e, sun-dried tomatoes, jalapenos, red peppers, chopped green chiles, sriracha sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Place the garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, salt and garlic in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Add desired seasonings and vegetables, etc. Transfer mixture to a serving bowl.
