French Toast Souffle

Ingredients

  • 10 cups french bread (about 1 loaf)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4 egg whites
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 to 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Optional: 3/4 cup raisins

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350° for 50 minutes

Place bread cubes in 13X9" baking dish sprayed with PAM.

In large bowl beat eggs and egg whites until smooth; add milk, syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.

Pour egg mixture over bread, making sure the bread is completely covered/coated.

Refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight covered.

Bake and then let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with maple syrup.

NOTE: recipe can be cut in half
