Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frying chicken, cut in pieces, rinsed, dried
  • 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. crushed corn flakes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder

Preparation

Step 1

In a glass shallow dish combine corn flakes, salt, thyme, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder.
Dip chicken in buttermilk, then roll in crushed seasoned flakes.
Place lower cooking rack in unit. Place mesh basket over the rack, lay chicken pieces on top.
Set oven to 375 degrees and fry 35 minutes.
