GOOEY CAKE

Peter’s Aunt Mary Tinnerello gave me this recipe after I tasted her cake at a family gathering. She was a wonderful cook and this cake proves it.

Ingredients
- 1 Box (17 oz.) pound cake mix
- 1/2 Cup butter, melted
- 4 Eggs
- 1 Pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 Tsp. vanilla
- 1 Box (l lb.) powdered sugar
- 1/2 Cup sliced almonds
Preparation
Step 1
Combine cake mix, butter and 2 eggs. Stir until well blended. Beat 1 minute. Spread batter in greased 13x9” pan. Beat cream cheese and add two eggs and vanilla. Set aside ½ cup powdered sugar. Beat in balance of powdered sugar (I never added it all - I stopped at about ¾). Pour evenly over cake batter. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until cake pulls away from sides. Cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
