Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or veal
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
- 1/2 onion
- 2 ribs celery
- 1/3 lb carrots
- 2 garlic cloves, whole
- 1/4 cup evoo
- 1 cube beef bouillon
- 1/3 cup basil
- 2/3 tsp oregano
- 1 to 2 tsp sugar
- pinch black pepper

Preparation
Step 1
-brown and drain meat; set aside
-cut onion, carrots and celery into small pieces; puree in food processor
-in 10 qt pot place evoo and cook the pureed vegetables for 10 min, stir often at med heat
-add the meat, tomatoes, bouillon, garlic, pepper and sugar
-cook at low heat for 10 min stirring frequently
-finely chop basil and crush oregano and add to sauce
-cook for 1 1/2 hours
-remove garlic, crush and return to sauce; cook for 5 more min
