Crescent Cheeseburger Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 8oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp oregano
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 pkg crescent rolls
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 oz cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

Brown beef. Drain fat. Add onion, cook until transparent. Stir in tomato sauce, mushrooms, parsley, oregano and pepper. Set aside. Unroll 1 pkg crescent rolls into triangles. On lightly greased 10" pie plate, arrange triangles with pointed ends to the centre. Press together to form pie shell. Separate 1 egg. Beat white with other 2 eggs. Pour half of mixture over pie shell. Spoon meat mixture into shell, put cheese on top. Spread with remaining beaten egg. Mix reserved yolk with 1 Tbsp water. Set aside. Unroll second pkg of rolls. Form 12"x6" rectangle. Roll dough into 12" circle. Brush edges of bottom crust with egg mixture. Place dough on top of filling. Trim, seal and flute edges. Cut slits in top crust. Brush top with remaining egg mixture. Bake at 350°F for 20 min. Cover with foil and bake 20 min longer. Let stand 10 min before serving.
