Ingredients
- Lamb Cake
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups + 1 heaping Tbsp cake flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients till well blended. Pour batter into a greased lamb mold. Bake on baking sheet in case batter pours out from mold.Bake at 350 for 1 hour or till toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes before unmolding. Unmolding cake and cool on rack completely. Frost and decorate when completely cooled.
Frosting
1 cup Crisco shortening
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
3 cup powdered sugar, sifted
With mixer on low speed, mix shortening, butter and vanilla add 1 cup powdered sugar. Gradually mix in remaining powdered sugar and beat till of spreading consistency. May add food coloring if you want tinted frosting.
