Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup grated sharpe cheese
  • 1 1/3 cup sifted flour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Filling
  • Combine 1 package dates, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick and jam like. Cool.

Step 1

Cream butter and cheese until light. Sift flour and salt. Blend into creamed mixture. Add water and mix well. Chill.

Roll dough to 18 inches on floured surface. Cut with biscuit cutter. Place 1 tsp. filling on half of each circle. Fold in half and seal with a fork. Bake on cookie sheet for 10 minutes.
