Ingredients

    cup butter

  • 1 1/2

    cups brown sugar (packed)

  • 2

    eggs

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • 1

    T. vinegar

  • 1

    cup evaporated milk

  • 1

    cup chopped nuts

  • 2 1/2

    cups flour

  • 1/2

    tsp. salt

  • 1/2

    tsp. baking powder

  • 1

    tsp. soda

  • FROSTING:

  • Melt 1/2 cup butter in pan over medium heat. When it stops bubbling, add to 3 cups powdered sugar. Slowly pour in boiling water until frosting is thin enough to ice cookies. Beat well.

Directions

Cream butter, sugar, and eggs. Add vinegar and vanilla to the milk. Stir well. Add soda, salt and baking powder to the flour. Add flour mixture alternately with milk to the butter, sugar, and egg mixture. Add 1 cup nuts. Drop by spoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake.
