Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 large onion, chopped
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 cups water
- 28 oz can tomatoes
- 10 oz can mushroom pieces, drained
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 5 large green peppers
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 3 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Step 1
Brown ground beef with onion; drain off fat. Prepare rice (in water) and add to beef mixture. Add tomatoes, mushrooms, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer 15-30 minutes. Boil green peppers in large pot of salted water for 10 minutes. Cool, cut in half, remove seeds and place in 10x13 inch pan. Stuff with beef mixture, top with crumbs, and drizzle with butter. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and bake 15 minutes longer.
