Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/3 cup baking cocoa
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 30 caramel candies, unwrapped
- 1 tsp. water
- 2 cups peanuts
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
Preparation
Step 1
Combine first 4 ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl; microwave on high until mixture bowls, about 3 minutes. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla; pour into a buttered 8 x 8 baking dish and set aside. In another microwave-safe bowl, heat caramels and water on high for 2 minutes or until melted, stirring after one minute; mix in peanuts. Spread over cocoa mixture; set aside. Melt chocolate chips together; pour evenly over caramel-nut layer. Refrigerate until firm. Cut into 3/4" x 1" pieces. Makes about 5 dozen.
