Traditionally Swiss Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cups biscuit mix
  • 1 cup grated swiss or cheddar cheese (divided 3/4 cup & 1/4 cup)
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 green onion, finely sliced
  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 F

In a large bowl, combine biscuit mix, 3/4 c cheese, ham and onion.

Add milk, mix with fork until dough forms into a ball (add more milk if necessary)

Turn out onto floured surface; knead 30 seconds

Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 inch cutter dipped in flour

Sprinkle top with remaining cheese

Bake on ungreased baking sheet until golden brown, 8 - 10 minutes

Freeze any leftover biscuits for later use. Delicious cold or reheated.
