Ingredients
- Topping:
- 5 to 6 sliced pears (8)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
- 3 T. lemon juice1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. mace
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. heavy cream, whipped and flavored with powdered sugar
- Vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Peel, core and slice pears. Toss with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon peel and juice. Arrange in unbaked pastry shell. For topping, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and mace. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over pears. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes or until fruit is tender. Serve warm with floured whipped cream, if desired.
