Congo Squares

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup Confectioners's sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter.
Stir in brown sugar and cool.
Beat eggs into cooled brown sugar mixture, one at a time.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add to creamed mixture and blending well.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Pour into a greased 13 x 9 pan and bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool and top with powdered sugar.
Cut into squares.
