Grandma Izard's Chop Suey

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. lean cubed beef
  • 2 lbs. lean cubed pork
  • 2 lg. cans LaChoy vegetable for chop suey
  • 1 lg. can LaChoy bean sprouts
  • 1 (5-oz) jar Bead molasses
  • 1 sm. jar LaChoy sauce
  • 2 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • Flour
  • Water

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat; add celery and onion. Drain LaChoy vegetables and bean sprouts. Add to mean mixture. Add molasses and LaChoy sauce. Mix all together. Add enough water to almost cover. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer for 2 to 3 hours. Thicken with flour and water mixed together before serving. Serve over rice topped with Chinese noodles.
